This is a reproduction of cousin Oby Bonawit's letter to me. The letter did not scan well so I typed it out. The type font is Comic Sans MS. His orginal letter will be preserved, as it too, some day, will be a historical document. I suspect that the problem with the scan was the light blue ink that Oby used. This letter was handwritten on a piece of 8.5x11 inch, 18 pound bond paper. I had called Oby on the telephone the evening before to ask about obtaining a copy of the book and this was his responce.

Jan 22, 1981Dear Michael,
Thank you for the order. I expect to get the book in the mail tomorrow.
I have a small stack of publications of the Historical Society of Berks County Penn. One of them should have the artical on the Tree of Life, but I went thru the stack 3 times and the publication that had the article just isn't there. Sorry. I didn't mean for it to get away.
I have a set of Collier Encyclopdias that have a nice article on the Ephrata Cloister. They are the ones that printed the fancy Tree of Life that was in a publication of the Historical Society about 1967.
I saw at Reading the will of Adam Bonawitz which he signed with a b in 1761, then sealed the will with a bit of wax and then pressed his ring in it. I sketched the wax impression which you will see on page four, and which I realized, later, was a simple version of the Tree of Life as published by the Historical Society at Reading.
The left pages of chapter 19 are blank, so you can add information about your family right in the book.
I would keep any information you might send, but I have no plans to update the book I have a dozen left from the last batch that I had bound. I really doubt there will be any more after these.
Good luck,
Oby Bonawit
