Bonawitz and wife Mary Ann Bonawitz sold land to settle the estate of Peter Bonawitz (1784- 1852). George Bonawitz and wife Amanda were in census records of Carroll County Illinois in 1850 and 1860. In 1870 and 1880 the same family was in Marshall County, Iowa, living near William Bonawitz of chapter 7. A history of the Linglestown area says that Peter Bonawitz went to Iowa, and it is believed that the George Bonawitz who is buried in La Moille Cemetery in Marshall County Iowa is the man known as Peter G. Bonawitz in Pennsylvania. George was a farmer. He moved to Iowa about 1865. He left no will. 1. Mary Ann Bonawitz, (1848- 2. Elizabeth Bonawitz, (1851- 3. Sarah Bonawitz, (1854- 4.
