         Charles was a barber at Marshalltown. Cynthia lives at Des Moines. 
         1. Charles Bonawitz, died in infancy. 
         2. Elbert Clay Bonawitz, born November 18, 1918. 
            m. Arlene Holdefer, April 20, 1942. Born March 24, 1924. 
            Arlene is a daughter of Ray W. Holdefer and wife Ethel Buck. 
            Elbert served in the Navy in W W II, now works at Newton for 
            Maytag. Elbert and Arlene live at Colfax. No children.
         3. John Henry Bonawitz, born March 8, 1922.
            m. 1st Lorraine Lantz. They divorced.
            m. 2nd Louise Smith, May 17, 1947. Born June 14, 1924. 
            Louise is a daughter of John T. and Clara Smith. John and
            Louise live at Mankato, Minnesota. John served in the Navy 
            in W W II. He is a salesman for the Northwestern Railroad. 
               1. Karen Jane Bonawitz, born December 13, 1951. 
               2. Constance Lynn Bonawitz, born September 23, 1953. 
               3. Janis Ann Bonawitz, born August 25, 1956.
               4. Michael John Bonawitz, born September 24, I960. 
         4. Gene Richard Bonawitz, born January 1, 1927. 
            m. Betty Lou Butler, July 9, 1947. Born February 20, 1927.
            Betty is a daughter of Ralph C. Butler and wife Esther 
            Campbell. Gene served in the Army during the Korean War.
            They live at Newton where Gene works for Maytag.
               1. Stephen Clay Bonawitz, born July 20, 1948. In the Navy.
