William served in Co A, 143rd Regt Inf from 1862 to 1865. William
and Elizabeth married at Emporium, Pa. He became a farmer and
woodsman in Summit Township, Potter County. He was mentioned in a
Potter County History.
 1. Leonora Alvena Bonawitz, (7/30/1870-    
    m. Austen (Ossie) Oriel Reed, August 26, 1886 at Freeman's Run.
    See page 1191 of Cleveland and Cleaveland Families. They had a
    daughter Grace who married Edwin Bickford. Grace lives at Erie,
    Pa. Leonora is buried in Eulalia Cemetery at Coudersport.
 2. Frarnklyn B. Bonawitz, (9/11/1876-12/29/1931)  Buried at Borie.
    m. Julia Mumford, (            -1/2/1955) Buried at Port Crane, N Y.
    Their children were born in Potter County.
    1. Nina Bonawitz, (12/  /1889-1/  /1968)
       m. 1st Acey Andrews. A son Russell Andrews lives at Vestal
       m. 2nd Arthur Lake. They lived near Binghamton, New York.
          1. Paul Lake, died age two.
          2. Glen Lake, lives in California, has three children,
          3. Walter Lake, lives in Newark Valley, N Y, has family.
          4. Bert Lake, lives in Endicott, N. Y., has 2 children.
          5. Clifford Lake, is married, lives in Owego, N. Y.
          6. Dorothy Lake, lives at San Diego, California.
    2. Glenn Bonawitz, born in 1900, lives at Greece, New York.
       Glenn married twice, has no children.
    3. Everett E. Bonawitz, (5/22/1902-6/14/1902) Buried at Borie.
    4. Guy Bonawitz, born April 27, 1905
       m. 1st Thelma ?     They had a daughter Julia, then divorced.
       m. 2nd Madolyn Grosbeck. No children. Guy is a retired
       shoemaker. They live at Johnson City, New York.
    5. Revere Bonawitz, born December 10, 1909.
       m. Reta Miller, February 17, 1930. Born February 22, 1913.
       Revere worked as a shoemaker and as a machine operator for
       a sheet metal company. Reta was a time keeper. Her parents
       were Merton Miller and his wife Maude Beadle. Revere and
       Reta live at Cortland, New York. Revere is incapacitated.
